stand up Americans!

I can not believe that these crazy tea party peeps are winning all this primaries...and that include that carpetbagger from Texas Rand Paul who thinks he represents ME in Kentucky.

Rand Paul wants to cut off Social Security,Medicare and Medicaid bcause it's "socialist" and "unconstitutional".

I don't know about the rest of Americans or even Kentuckians, but I spend about half of my income in taxes and get NOTHING for the half of my income, most of which goes to small local government.

I don't have a decent road (need 4WD to get through the first mile or so). I don't have water or sewer...I have a well for water and a septic tank (and no one within four miles of me has a septic tank...they have straight pipes to the creek, thankfully they are ALL downstream).

I live in Third World America and Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul have NO problem to let the status quo go...they got theirs, screw the rest of us.

I give you a song from The Who and remember this in November! Won't Get Fooled [screwed] Again:

Jimi Hendrix, a Patriot

just have to share this video on the 40th anniversary of Jimi Hendrix's death on September 18, 1970. This has got to be the BEST version of the National Anthem I have EVER heard. Jimi used his guitar to be patriotic and ALSO mixed in the sounds of war. He was brilliant then and the brilliance still lives on.

Had to replace the video with another source since my first source has been removed.

One of the best speeches never heard

This is one of the best speeches never heard in the USA:

VP Joe Biden spoke in Iraq on September 2 and it was one of the greatest speeches of all time.

How sad that this never hit the radar on USA news....but Glenn Beck's nonsense rally at the Lincoln Monument got loads of coverage on C=Span and CNN.

I weep for my country.

Ground Zero

I am so sick and tired of this "Ground Zero Mosque" crap.

President Obama made it crystal clear that our Constitution says that we have freedom of religion in the United States of America.

This is a country that allows the extremely hateful and icky Westboro Baptist Church to spew their hateful "Christian" spew at the funerals of our soldiers who gave their lives in the Middle East.

This is a country that allows very afraid and easily swayed right-wing Americans to call our legally elected President a Marxist, a Fascist, a Communist, a Muslim, and any other thing that can say...and they are just just scared stupid because they have what THEY have and are afraid that the rest of us, now that we have lost almost everything WE have worked for all our lives are going to take THEIR "stuff" away....they have their stuff...government keep its hands off THEIR stuff and screw the rest of us.

How Christian of them...not!

But this mosque in NYC is pissing me off.

How do all these non-NYC teabaggers get off telling a LOCAL government unit how to act????
Isn't the teabag premise AGAINST big government getting involved in local government?
So WHY is Sarah Palin and Rand Paul and all these other non NYC people weighing in and insertign themselves into LOCAL government???

And they are all going on and on about 9/11 (and sarah with this stupid "stab in the heart" thing)...I give everyone this:

Welcome to the Rainbow Bridge 9/11/01

I just like this one a lot.

Mitch McConnel gets stupid

From Huffington Post:

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell Announces Opposition To Elena Kagan

All I can say, and I emailed McConnell about this:

Knock it off with this saying no about everything!!!!
I am completely sick and tired of all you obstructionist Republicans claiming to speak for the "American people" when IN FACT you are all against ANYTHING President Obama is trying to accomplish.
I am sick and tired of you people whining about the "socialist" HCR for all Americans (I am a Republican who paid health insurance premiums for decades and had my insurance cut off with NO warning).
I am sick and tired of our Republican "leadership" letting the meme continue that the unemployed are "lazy"...I'll have you know that I have a master's degree and my husband has been a powerline and cable worker for decades but was laid off after restoring power to western Kentucky after the icestorm in 2009 (and he worked 16-18 hour days in below freezing temperatures for more than three weeks with NO days off) and has been looking for work ever since and while YOU are enjoying a PAID holiday weekend, we have only MY minimum wage part-time job to pay our bills.
And neither of us, now in our late 50s, have health insurance because there's no way we can afford it on my part-time income that is hovering around poverty level.
I don't agree with everything that Elena Kagan stands for, but I say that about most people except for YOU! You don't speak for me and not for anyone else I know in Kentucky.
Thanks for NOTHING!
Especially that big stimulus check you brought to Maysville and took photo op credit for even though you voted against the stimulus.
You are a complete fraud.
